Tether added 1 billion USDT to reserves on the Tron network

Tether - the issuer of the USDT stablecoin - has authorized another 1 billion coins for issuance on the Tron network. The last time it replenished its reserves was in December 2023. At that time, Tether also printed 1 billion USDT.

The capitalization of the Tether stablecoin continues to grow. At the time of writing, it has exceeded $94 billion, according to TradingView:
Note that at the end of 2023, this figure was $91.66 bln. According to DeFiLlama, the USDT market dominance rate exceeded 70.6%. For comparison, in December last year it was equal to 70.2%.

Recall that in early December 2023, Tether received about $1.1 billion in unrealized profits from bitcoin investments.

Earlier we reported that the deposits of the USDT steiblcoin issuer for $1 billion were at the center of the litigation, which is considered by the High Court of London. The company also noted that it froze addresses related to the financing of the war in Ukraine and Israel.
