🪙 Ethereum roadmap for the year 2024!
There could be 4 massive updates coming out at once this year:
ERC-4337, EIP-4844, EIP-3074 and EIP-5003
Let's break down each of them individually:
1️⃣ Locking the ERC-4337 update into the protocol core
Right now, smart accounts run on top of Ethereum, but developers plan to integrate them directly into the blockchain to make smart accounts more efficient, cheaper, and more convenient.
Users will be able to pay fees using different tokens, make transactions without fees and add new features to their wallets.
2️⃣ EIP-4844: improving the efficiency of L2 networks
EIP-4844 will reduce the cost of transactions on Layer 2 networks by making it cheaper to publish data on the core network. Transactions on L2 networks will become about 10 times cheaper.
Also, this update will prepare Ethereum for the introduction of Darksharding technology.
3️⃣ EIP-3074: Transaction Optimization
EIP-3074 will bring major changes to the way Ethereum authorizes and executes transactions. Users will be able to delegate the execution of transactions to third parties.
With this, complex transactions can be realized with a single signature without the need for multiple confirmations. For example, batch transactions, expiring transactions and more.
4️⃣ EIP-5003: a proposal to optimize EIP-3074
EIP-5003 aims to address security concerns following the implementation of EIP-3074. This update will increase the security of smart accounts and improve the protection of wallets against possible attacks.
All these updates are mainly aimed at optimizing the network and enhancing the functionality of the wallets. This is exactly what Ethereum users have been waiting for a long time.
Yes, Ethereum security is cool, but without cheap fees and cool features, people will continue to leave for "competitors".
